In the past, the recommended solution of uninstalling the monitor, then scanning for hardware changes, logging out, logging back in and installing the dpms worked. Log out and back in. For whatever reason if you have a bad monitor driver installed it won’t update it correctly, but removing the monitor in device manager did the trick for me. Clear this option to force anyone accessing the host to manually authenticate by entering a valid username and password. Prevent anyone at the host from seeing your work during remote control. Worked like a charm. It should find and add your monitors again.

Screen blanking does not work on my Windows 7 host. What can I do?
Click the computer name at top, Right click and hit Scan for Changes. Can I update my monitor drivers online? Right click, hit uninstall. Select this option if you want all keyboard and mouse actions on the client device to be processed before actions on the host. For security reasons, I cannot have my screen being viewed locally.

Only the client user will be able to input data. It should prompt again to install the DPMS drivers, and for me at least the installation worked this time.
That will scan your computer for any hardware that hasn’t been installed. Go to Device Manager.

It didn’t work for me until i uninstalled all the monitors. The problem was fixed before the logmeing guy came back to me Overall rating Logmein 0 Community 1 Philip. When you’ve removed all the monitors, right click on your computer at the top of the Device Manager screen and choose Scan for hardware olgmein.
Anyone at the host device will see a blank screen on the physical monitor while the remote session is active. I tried reinstalling the driver of the new monitor only but it didn’t work!

How to install DPMS driver?
It should find and add your monitors again. Now just log in with a remote client again I used my iphone and go to the connection settings and set it to blank the screen. Who can use this feature?

This is a big problem!! A window stating my host computer monitor is blanked pops up on my iPad yet the screen is not blank!

This might be an old thread – but I need assistance on this. I realise this was over a year ago I was actually on the phone to logmein support when I came across this fix. LogMeIn will prompt you to send your saved Windows credentials with a single click.
I have a problem because when I try to blank the host computer’s screen I get a message saying that logmein could not install the DPMS-enabled monitor driver.
